We've been looking at the pattern in Matt. 26, Jesus while eating his last meal with his disciples took the bread, and blessed it, broke it and gave it to his disciples. He said, “This is my body, eat it.” Like the bread, Jesus himself was chosen by the Father, He was chosen, blessed, and broken and given on the cross for sins of the world. Each of us has been called to follow Jesus in this pattern of being chosen, blessed, broken and given by God and for the world around us. Here we're looking at the final go these four, given.
Given: Sometimes we’re given to our families, sometimes our local church, and sometimes to the far flung world. We are poured our like a drink offering every time we put aside our own personal agenda in preference of someone else. We give ourselves to other people because we want to make difference in the lives of both individuals, in communities and even in nations. You know what my big question is? Am I enough? Did I miss a big calling? Am I faithful? Was there a signpost I missed? I think God is telling us that we are his Much loved daughters And his faithful ambassadors He’s not hiding the path He’s going to invigorate us Envision us. God is going to lead us if we continue to ask him. If you need a breakthrough… I think it’s in the area of feeling affirmed. His leading isn’t reserved for people who live in sexy cities or talented types. I’m here to affirm you as those who bravely bring the Kingdom and if I could, I’d hand out medals. You listened when he called you, when he chose you. You responded. You affirmed that he blessed you, gifted you and graced you. You are being ignited to go and be the answer in a world that need to see Jesus. Like him, we are called to be bread for the world. That makes me proud to be your sister and your friend!
